Welcome to Queens Park Primary School Print
school.jpg Queen’s Park Primary School is a 1 ½ form entry school of approximately 300 children (including 50 p/t in the nursery) in a listed Victorian building in north Westminster. The local community in the school’s catchment area is culturally and ethnically diverse. We are proud our intake reflects the breadth of the wider community. Over 85% of the children speak English as an additional language, and many different languages are spoken.

Common desire to learn

Although backgrounds are diverse, our school population shares a common aim: the desire to learn. This can be seen in every classroom, where pupils display their friendliness, willingness to participate, enthusiasm for learning and celebration of our diversity.

Gold Artsmark Award

Queen’s Park Primary school is a Gold Artsmark school and is committed to excellent provision in the arts as a means of supporting the development of language, both oral and written.

Arts-rich curriculum

Our pupils love coming to school, love learning, feel safe, happy and enthused when they are here and develop a great disposition towards learning. As a community we create together – whether in singing, through class activities or through our arts-rich curriculum which develops confidence, self-esteem and the ability to take risks as learners.

High achievers

The school is calm with a sense of purpose that has been commented on favourably by Ofsted. Pupils in Key Stage 1 make good progress. At Key Stage 2 the gap is closing between our pupils’ achievements and the LEAs’s average and in 2005 were above the national and the local average. We also have a substantial number of pupils who have achieved at levels above the National Average (in all three subjects).
